Contents page
This is my final contents page design. I kept 'regulars' and 'features' inverted versions of each other so that I could establish some kind of house style and theme. This method also helped me stay within the limits of a 3 colour scheme.
Double Page Spread - 3rd times the charm
This is my third attempt at the font because I felt that the other design which had blue boxes stood out of place because they were not really working well with the overall colour scheme so I tried I experimented with cream coloured boxes and felt that it looked a lot better.
Double Page Spread take 2
This was my second attempt at trying to make the text more clearer to the reader. I tried using darker font but that wasn't enough because it started being difficult to read on the left side so I added a fill to the text box but it covered the image up too much so I made it slightly transparent so that the picture behind was still slightly visible and the text was still slightly visible.
My new Double Page Spread
This is my first draft of my Double Page Spread, I used a pull quote in the top right and altered the edges to make it slightly wrap around one of the band members head. I used the green and orange for the title because they contrast really well and draw the reader's eye. For the image I blew it up so it covered the whole page and used a gradient effect around the edge to make them stand out a little more. The interview is not that long and the text is fairly sized so that it is clear to the reader but in some parts it is difficult to see especially the right area.

My new Masthead
I redesigned my masthead to seem more suited for a magazine. It has a sleeker design and is more compact like XXL's logo, I also changed the colours slightly because the old colours made people that I asked think of fast food restaurants. I thought that red and white worked really well together and would be good for a rock magazine.
